Casas Caiadas
This trio of old water mills, named Casas Caiadas, has been lovingly converted into gorgeous whitewashed cottages with a beautiful natural pool.
We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast at Vermelho. Highlights included the array of Portuguese and French pastries that were brought to your table and the perfectly cooked a-la-carte eggs. Breakfast was delicious but also beautifully arranged, featuring tableware from Vida Dura.
Elisabeth Lincot's installation, Lagrima de Loros, graces an exterior hearth at Vermelho with glazed and colourful ceramic bird heads.
Experience authentic Portugal at Casas Caiadas, formerly a group of old water mills, with a beach-like swimming pool nestled between ancient waterways.
This beautifully restored trio of traditional whitewashed houses in the Alentejo, blends rustic charm and minimalism. The property features three independent sleeping houses and a social house.
Casa Caiada comfortably sleeps 2-6 guests, perfect for families, while Care Taker and Stone House are ideal for couples. The Social House, a restored watermill, serves as a stylish meeting point where breakfast is served to guests. All cottages at Casas Caiadas can be rented together.
Surrounded by ancient olive trees and immense skies, Casas Caiadas is perfect for stargazing, birdwatching, and exploring nearby historical towns. Founded by Paula and Mario and designed by architect Luís Pereira Miguel (PM-ARQ), it embraces the beauty of Nature and Alentejo's rich heritage.
