Aethos Ericeira
Aethos Ericeira is a 50-room boutique hotel nestled on the scenic surf coast of Portugal, less than an hour's drive north of Lisbon.
We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast at Vermelho. Highlights included the array of Portuguese and French pastries that were brought to your table and the perfectly cooked a-la-carte eggs. Breakfast was delicious but also beautifully arranged, featuring tableware from Vida Dura.
Elisabeth Lincot's installation, Lagrima de Loros, graces an exterior hearth at Vermelho with glazed and colourful ceramic bird heads.
Aethos Ericeira's design is inspired by the stunning hues and textures of the local beaches, dunes, and cliffs. It features large windows and ample natural light, immersing you in the breathtaking ocean views.
Surrounded by nature, gazing over the Atlantic from a cliff, the hotel is a mere two-minute walk to the beach. With a strong focus on wellness, there’s a spa, a heated swimming pool, a gym and yoga classes - while the restaurant offers a locally sourced healthy menu.
Ericeira is a fishing and surfing town with a cool peaceful vibe near Lisbon, and a place we really like and visit on a regular basis. Until now, there weren’t many boutique offerings in this region, so we look forward to checking out Aethos.
