Spatia Comporta is a five-star retreat offering 20 Club Rooms, 18 cabanas, and 10 villas, all set among the pines. There’s a sense of calm throughout, with clean modern lines softened by natural textures and traditional materials.
Spatia Comporta takes its name from the Latin for “space”—a philosophy reflected in its low-slung architecture, open layouts, and seamless connection to the pine forest.
We first visited the hotel in 2020 and were drawn to its simplicity and stillness. On our return in 2025, we stayed in the new adults-only area—cabanas, villas, Clube Colmo, and an additional vast heated pool.
The cabanas combine modern architecture and clean lines with regional traditions—think thatched roofs and floor-to-ceiling windows opening onto private terraces. Bathrooms open directly onto secluded outdoor showers.
Spatia Comporta's villas, offer two to four bedrooms, airy interiors, generous terraces, and private pools—ideal for families or groups.
Dining at Ora was a highlight. Chef Afonso Carvalho’s menu celebrates excellent seasonal Alentejo produce—meat, fish, and inventive vegetarian dishes such as burnt cabbage with local cheese sauce, which was delicious. For dessert, the mushroom ice cream with pine nuts, is still very happily embedded in our memories.
