A Hospedaria is a small rural hotel nestled between Tavira and Cacela Velha in the Eastern Algarve comprising five suites with private patios and a small shared pool.

A Hospedaria is housed in a former tavern and post office dating back to 1917. On the shady terrace, guests can enjoy a delicious, generous breakfast or other light meals by the plunge pool, which is heated in the winter.

Fill your lungs with the wonderful aromas that the south of Portugal has to offer—you're surrounded by the scent of almond, carob, fig, orange, and olive trees. It’s a wonderful place to get away from it all and relax.

A Hospedaria was conceived by the creative minds behind the nearby Pensão Agrícola, one of the first boutique hotels to be proudly featured on JO&SO back in 2015. Both were restored by the Lisbon-based architecture firm Atelier RUA, and share the same stunning aesthetic sensibilities.

The minimalistic decor, rural charm, vintage finds, traditional Portuguese elements and contemporary art pieces.

The breakfast is a delicious feast served at your table. It’s great not to have to make any decisions.

It’s the real Algarve here, and you’re within easy reach of a fishing village and deserted beaches that are its best-kept secret.

Faro Airport is only 35km away.

Seafood lovers will enjoy the local and super fresh specialities such as oysters, razor clams and tuna.

A Hospedaria is encircled by a white wall, which limits views of the rural landscape beyond.

Children under 12 years old cannot be accommodated at the hotel.

The plunge pool is too small for swimming, but it’s perfect for refreshing.

We love the minimalist elegance within A Hospedaria's suites – the white walls, heated concrete flooring, concrete-lined ceilings, and eclectic furniture complemented by contemporary art pieces are just perfect.

We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast at Vermelho. Highlights included the array of Portuguese and French pastries that were brought to your table and the perfectly cooked a-la-carte eggs. Breakfast was delicious but also beautifully arranged, featuring tableware from Vida Dura.

A Hospedaria is a boutique hotel in Sítio da Cumeada, nestled between Tavira and Cacela Velha, in the Eastern Algarve.

Situated at the crossroads of three country roads, A Hospedaria's location is framed by avocado farms, orange, fig, almond, strawberry, and carob orchards. This beautiful rural setting is just a short drive from some of the Eastern Algarve's best beaches, offering a tranquil yet accessible retreat for those looking to explore the region.

We love the nearby village of Cacela a Velha with its narrow streets and small white houses with colourful windows – its beach is a delight. Tavira (7km) is considered by some the prettiest town in the Algarve.

Fuseta (23km) has a fantastic flea market every 2nd Sunday of the month selling some interesting vintage goods.

A Hospedaria offers complimentary bicycles and also organises trips to your own desert island – picnic hamper and parasol included!

We love Cacela a Velha, a picturesque village with narrow streets and small white houses with colourful windows - its beach is a delight.

The Ria Formosa Natural Park is a paradise for birdwatchers. Different types of tours, including kayaks, are available.

Try the famous local oysters from Ria Formosa, they're delicious!

Visit Castro Marim's castle so you can pretend you're on Game of Thrones.

Visit Monterosa's farm, an excellent Olive Oil maker.

Delicious traditional Portuguese food at Dom Petisco, just by the border with Spain - nice view too :)

We had an amazing meal at Noélia & Jerónimo in Cabanas. We highly recommend a visit to this restaurant.
