The first phase of Gandum Village is now open, featuring three accommodation units (with 18 more opening later this year), an organic farm, a restaurant, a large pool and two smaller ones, coworking spaces, a Food Lab, and more.
The Monte building, located next to the reception, houses three minimalist apartments, each offering a terrace and kitchenette. The remaining 18 accommodations are under construction in the picturesque Claustro building, characterised by its natural architecture with rammed earth walls.
Martina Wiedemar and João Almeida, the visionaries behind Gandum Village, met in Bern, Switzerland, where they studied Geography and Economics. The couple decided to apply their knowledge and passion for sustainability by creating this remarkable village.
Three agroforests serve as fundamental pillars of sustainability at Gandum, which is powered entirely by 260 solar panels and constructed using natural rammed earth materials. Looking ahead, Gandum has exciting developments planned, and we very much look forward to visiting again and sharing more with you.
