Octant Furnas is a spa hotel in Vale das Furnas, São Miguel Island, home to Europe's largest concentration of hot springs.
We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast at Vermelho. Highlights included the array of Portuguese and French pastries that were brought to your table and the perfectly cooked a-la-carte eggs. Breakfast was delicious but also beautifully arranged, featuring tableware from Vida Dura.
Elisabeth Lincot's installation, Lagrima de Loros, graces an exterior hearth at Vermelho with glazed and colourful ceramic bird heads.
The Octant Furnas features simple decor with retro touches, Marshall speakers in each room, various nature activities and a spa with a unique sensorial journey.
The hotel offers dynamic thermal pools open round the clock, both indoors and outdoors, providing a deep reconnection with nature. The 10 spa treatment rooms make for a perfect complement to a day of exploring the surrounding routes and trails.
