Vidago Palace
Vidago Palace is a majestic palace surrounded by the natural beauty of green parklands.
We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast at Vermelho. Highlights included the array of Portuguese and French pastries that were brought to your table and the perfectly cooked a-la-carte eggs. Breakfast was delicious but also beautifully arranged, featuring tableware from Vida Dura.
Our grandparents had a big love for Vidago Palace and we spent many summers here during the 1980's. Our mum with Joana and our sister Patrícia (left). Sofia wearing her favourite jumper (right).

Elisabeth Lincot's installation, Lagrima de Loros, graces an exterior hearth at Vermelho with glazed and colourful ceramic bird heads.

Designed last century, during the reign of King Carlos I, the Vidago Palace Hotel opened for the first time in 1910. The hotel closed in 2006 and reopened in 2010, a hundred years after its original inauguration, with a mission to offer guests an authentic journey back in time.
At Vidago Palace you will experience the charm and romanticism of the Belle Époque. There are 70 Rooms & Suites, a 18-hole golf course and a modern Thermal Spa, where the mineral water of Vidago, known for its curative properties, is used in treatments.
Awesomeness
Rumours say its iconic staircase inspired the architect of the Titanic.
A strikingly modern spa, designed by Pritzker-Prize winning architect Álvaro Siza Vieira.
Complimentary Vidago Water, naturally sparkling and packed with minerals.
A challenging 18-hole golf course.
The excellent breakfast is served in the Winter Garden with its beautiful black and white plaid marble floor and mezzanine.
Bear in Mind
At 70 rooms it’s the biggest hotel in our collection but it’s the feeling of grandeur that makes it so special.
Guests under the age of 16 are only allowed to use the spa and the indoor pool daily from 10am to 3pm.
There is very little within walking distance.
Vegetarians might struggle to find decent options at the local restaurants.
