The 500 Hidden Secrets of Porto is a travel guide that brings together our local expertise for visitors who want to discover the lesser-known spots of Porto, and for locals who want to get to know their city even better. In summary, the book lists 500 things you need to know about Porto in 100 different categories.

We want to inspire you in discovering all sides of Porto, from the 5 bars to drink like a local to the city’s 5 quirkiest sights. It is an intimate travel guide to all that Porto has to offer, from places off the beaten track to the most happening hotspots. Discover the best views of the city, and find 5 classic places to try a francesinha – Porto’s craziest sandwich invention.

In March 2020, as we were finalising the photography and writing of the book, the Covid-19 pandemic struck the world. We then agreed with our publishers that it was best to delay the release date. Unfortunately, a few of the places that we had originally written about haven't been able to survive the lockdowns. We have fully revised the book just now before going to print, and we’re not going to lie - it’s been quite emotional re-reading it all.

We hope that the immense love and dedication that has been put into this travel guide will, in some small way, help Porto 💙 come back to the best version of itself soon.

If you get a copy we would love it if you share a photo with it tagging us on instagram and let us know where you are from. It would be really cool to know where the book is going (even if you’re also from Porto)! 🤗

A huge thanks to our partners Henrique and Mo for their amazing patience and advice during the making of this book. You two are 💛💛 Also, a BIG OBRIGADA to our family and friends for all of their invaluable tips, in particular our Mum, Patrícia, Piki, Juan, Mike and Carol. Last but not least, we are super grateful to our publishers Luster and our editor Dettie for the opportunity to share The 500 Hidden Secrets of Porto travel guide with the world.

We also recommend you to check out The 500 Hidden Secrets of Lisbon by Miguel Júdice.

Here's hoping you create new memories here in Portugal. Tag us on Instagram (we would love it if you do!) and let us know how it goes. 🤗
