We are often asked to recommend places to stay with a back-to-nature feel and an understated luxury vibe.

Today we are bringing you our handpicked selection of rural, country and farmhouse hotels in the Alentejo, a region in the south of Portugal that stands out by its dreamy golden landscape, a slow pace of life, charming historic villages and delightful local gastronomy.

Every place we feature in our main collection has been tried and tested by us personally. Below is a mix between the rural hotels, country houses and farmhouse stays in the Alentejo in Portugal we already know and love, and those that are on our radar. They are the perfect getaways to relax, enjoy nature and breathe fresh air. Most are family-friendly and offer plenty of activities for the little ones.
