Spa & Eco-Resort in the North
From €144 per night
Pedras Salgadas Spa & Nature Park is a beautiful blend of modernity – striking, geometric Eco Houses and Treehouses nestled amongst the surrounding parkland, in north Portugal.
The outdoor decks, windows and skylights frame the living picture of the surrounding ancient cedars and pines. Pitched roofs and slate outer tiles hint towards local construction.
Explore beyond the minimalist sustainable architecture and you will find quirkier Art Nouveau buildings dating from 1910 dotted around. Pedras Salgadas (“Salted Stones”) refers to the supply of the mineral-rich Pedras sparkling water, a draw for Portuguese royalty and locals alike. We can vouch for its restorative powers!
If you have ever had treehouse or cabin-in-the-wood fantasies, this is the place for you.
A beautiful Spa designed by Pritzker winner, Álvaro Siza.
Only 14 eco-houses and 2 tree-houses so it always feels peaceful.
Each eco-house has its own balcony and fully equipped kitchen.
Complimentary bikes with great trails to ride.
The outdoor swimming pool is only open from June to September.
At night it can be a bit dark to walk around. A lantern is handy.
The town is very quiet and there is very little within walking distance.
Vegetarians might struggle to find decent options at the local restaurants but the houses have everything you need to prepare your own meals or the hotel can deliver meals to you.
